Trainer: Helen Terry

Focus: Communication, Relationship and Intimacy

Intent: To energize personal connection through self-discovery and communication by following The Body’s Way

Blue Belt, the second level of Nia education, explores how to create healthy relationships through body-centered communication. This intensive introduces the next set of 13 Nia principles, which focus on the mental, emotional and spiritual realms of the body. While the White Belt curriculum focuses entirely on awareness of physical sensation, Blue Belt applies these skills to explore internal sensations as perceived through — but distinct from — physical sensations in the body.

Blue Belt Principle #1: The Joy of Being in Relationship, integrates the sensation of Joy with the awareness that Joy is something outside the self, which we can invite into our physical experience. As a result, we begin to deepen our ability to listen with clarity and sustain awareness of details outside our body.

The cost of the Blue Belt Training is $1599 USD.

Please read ALL this information regarding lodging and meals. If you have unanswered questions, contact Susan Proffitt.

Roslyn Retreat Center is located on River Road in Richmond overlooking the historic Kanawha Canal. The grounds are beautiful and serene. You will love it! Our group will have Tucker Lodge/Hall to ourselves for the entire week. The first floor of Tucker Hall has a large room (where we’ll dance) and a separate lounge with couches, etc. (for breaks). The second floor has dormitory rooms and shared baths and a kitchen. Roslyn has a separate Dining Hall where we will enjoy lunches and dinners. Breakfast will be on our own.

If you choose to stay at Roslyn, the cost for 6 nights of dorm lodging, 6 lunches, and 6 dinners is $597. It's a great deal!

OR stay at Roslyn in your own room with private bath, 5-minute walk from Tucker. Cost for 6 nights of single/private, 6 lunches, and 6 dinners is $743.

Because Roslyn is a residential retreat center, any DAY-ONLY participants (including auditors) are required to pay a $7/per day "commuter fee" PLUS eat at least one meal in the Dining Hall. Lunch is $15. Dinner is $18. Meals are buffet style and healthy. The Dining Hall is spacious and lovely. Sharing meals together will be a great time to socialize and bond.

Payment for lodging, commuter fee and individual meals will be collected by Susan. Roslyn requires one single, group payment, so you will need to make your Roslyn lodging and meal decisions by FEB 1, 2013 and submit to Susan. There are only 12 beds available in Tucker Hall, so don’t wait too long to make your decision!

Click here to open a PDF form. Indicate your Roslyn meals and mail the form, along with your payment, to Susan Proffitt. (please make checks payable to CHASEPRO)

(Registration for the Blue Belt Training is separate from Roslyn lodging/meals. Click purple button at top of page.)
